A few weeks ago I got asked to model for Mint and Chillies which I was absolutely over the moon about because I’m a big fan of Paulina’s beautiful images and have been following her on instagram for ages. The first thing I did was pick out the prettiest dress in my wardrobe and get my big underskirt at the ready – well, a girl can never look too OTT when there’s a camera around!
Despite the weather being a little dull (and raining just before we started!) I’m totally thrilled to bits with how incredible these images turned out. Being Edinburgh it was also pretty cold, but I managed to brave it for these shots. Somehow she’s made me look like I was out frolicking on a lovely summers day! It’s official, Paulina is a photography wizard. Plus she has such a great eye for detail and composition she captures the beauty in every moment too, which is very difficult to do with a chilly, fidgety gal! I have no plans for a wedding, but if I did, I know exactly who to call. If you want my advice you should call her too – I can guarantee you won’t regret it!!
Currently Paulina is working on a new project photographing some of Edinburgh’s wonderful bloggers, but she has been in the business for a while as a lifestyle and food photographer. It’s so exciting to see her make the transition because she clearly has a talent for it; she sent me so many images from our short shoot it was painfully hard to choose which ones to include in this blog post. Don’t worry, I’ll be sharing more on instagram and on the blog so you wont miss out!
Having time for a brew and a bit of banter with her and her partner Stan was a really great way to begin the day because they’re so chatty you’re instantly put at ease. Being able to connect so quickly (and have a good laugh!) with your photographer really makes for a natural and characterful image. I wish I could keep this team in my pocket for all occasions!
I’m already planning more shoots to work on with Paulina and I hope I will be able to share them with you soon too. If you’re a fan of her work, make sure you check out her site and follow her Mint And Chillies instagram / twitter / facebook accounts for updates. For her Blogger project she’s also photographed Helen and Kim of Wardrobe Conversations and Louise of Love From LuLu and the collection is continually growing. Definitely one to watch!!
For anyone in Edinburgh looking for some incredible portraits, make sure you get in touch with her here
Dress & Glasses: Vintage (Dress came all the way from Amsterdam!) * Handkerchief head scarf: Vivienne Westwood *Call Me necklace: Kate Spade * Pom pom shoes: Miss Selfridge. I don’t know about you, but I find those high heels with the ‘rocking’ sole really hard to walk in (I have dodgy knees). If you have any tips on how to walk in these
comfortably successfully I’d love to hear from you!!
Hope you love the pictures! Thanks so much for doing such an amazing job Paulina, you stole my heart!
