With it still snowing outside I am getting some serious wardrobe cabin fever. I’m so fed up with warm cloths and battling the elements to get to work! With this in mind, I have decided to remind momma nature that when the sun’s out, the fun’s out, and she should have a real think about havoc she is creating by holding out on that glorious sunshine. To warm myself up, I’ve been day dreaming of frolicking in the botanical gardens with my favourite ladies. Let me tell you now, if I was to be trapped on a tropical island and was only allowed to bring one thing, it would be my girl gang. Who needs a boat when you’ve got sunshine, great banter and cute shoes!!
This is Part 2 of our fruity shooty with photography team Mint & Chillies, which I am now compiling into a dedicated photo album because they just take the cutest pictures ever, and they don’t half cheer me up to look at them. When you get a great bunch of photos with your favourite people, you’ve got to get them off the screen and turn them into physical objects that can be enjoyed without logging on. Now that everything is digital, I think we often forget to take our precious moments off our laptops. Isn’t that sad? These things should be celebrated! If you’re feeling blue, photo albums are a fast and magic way to turn a frown upside down. Also, you need to hang more pictures up in your life. Dot them anywhere and everywhere and you will be constantly reminded of how fortunate and loved you are. It’ll be the best thing you do this week, I promise!
Helen and Kim of Wardrobe Conversations rocked some gorgeous green get ups for our jungle frolics, whereas Lynsay aka Miss West End Girl and I went vibrant and colourful and totally tropical. I literally became the man from DelMonte when Lynsay suggested this theme for the shoot. FYI, he said Yes. A lot. That dude loves him some fruit!! Having a squad that can coordinate outfits at the drop of a hat is something I never knew I needed in my life. These gals don’t half know how to inspire me to up my wardrobe game and crack out some incredibly playful accessories. It’s totally impossible for me to overdress when they’re around. I love that I can embrace my inner Carmen Miranda with them!
Speaking of, I’d like to point out that Lynsay and I are actually wearing each others birthday gifts in this shoot too – girl crush – I’m wearing the fascinator she got me from Alternate Normality, and she’s rocking the watermelon necklace I got her from Hannah Zakari because it clearly had her name all over it! OH! And FYI, Drag Race Fans, Scotlands’ contestant Morgan McMichaels was totally loving this necklace as well. I think I might need to invest in one for myself!
I can’t believe it’s only been a year since and a bit since we all started hanging out… It feels like I’ve known these gals forever! This has been a really incredible revelation of blogging; I’ve met so many interesting people and I can honestly tell you it’s done nothing but change my life for the better. I cant imagine where I would be without these ladies in my life now… probably not in the jungle shaking my pineapples, that’s for sure!
Happy Galentine’s sweet thangs! Thank you for being so adorable, funny, smart and totally bad ass. You rock!!
And a massive thank you again to Mint & Chillies for taking such magical photographs, we love you!
For those of you not quite ready to go, join me in grabbing a piece of fruit and Chica Chica Boom Chic for more sunny days!
