November Round Up!

November Round Up!

Crikey! It’s December already! Where does the time go? The temperature has already dropped to below zero and we got our first frosting of the season –  there’s no turning back now! We’re ready to cozy up with a cuppa and put on our wooly socks… aaah, so good! Now that we’re comfortable, it’s time for our November round up. Ready for the best bits? Us too!

A peek at our Wordless Wednesday photo posts you’ll notice there are less Starbucks cups in here as we’re making a stand and not drinking there till they start paying their taxes. That’s sad for everyone, but it’s their own fault! Seems they’re starting to re-assess the way they run their business too. Good to see that people voting with their feet can still be so powerful!

We’ve run three fab diy projects this month by showing you how to turn your wine glass into a table lantern – we think this tutorial is going to come in seriously handy with the nights closing in! We also revived an old Salt Dough recipe to show you how to make some cute mittens on a string bunting for your tree πŸ™‚ Last but not least, we shared a tutorial on how to use gold leaf to upcycle some trinkets into beautiful table decorations or kitsch n quirky ornaments for your home – this is a great way to bling up your christmas gifts! Gotta love it πŸ˜€

This month has been hugely fantastic for us and our wee business too! We got featured in Vogue Bambini Magazine , included in Etsy & Stylist Magazine’s online Christmas Gift Guide and Blog And Buy Sale’s brilliant wish list for a start! We also created our first ever window display with our giant geek glasses, which was a massive amount of fun! We brought out our new wooden brooches and were proud supporters of Movember and raised money by selling our moustaches for the cause. Phew! What a busy month!

We also experimented with our new stall layout, shared what we were thankful for on Thanksgiving, shared a giveaway for the month and had our biggest ever sale for Black Friday. How great is that? We were also delighted to have a lovely blog post about our products and packaging written up on A Blackbirds Epiphany Amazing, right?

We hope you are enjoying our blog and had a fab November too πŸ™‚
Cant wait to hanging out with you through December!

August Round Up! Features, Tutorials, Fashion & Fun!

August Round Up! Features, Tutorials, Fashion & Fun!

Happy September everyone!
August just flew by, right? The sun was out and the whole of Great Britain was a buzz with the London Olympics… It’s been epic! Incase you missed anything on our blog, you can catch up with this month’s round up. Ready? Ok!
Our wordless wednesday posts are still going strong πŸ˜€ This month has had great weather, meaning our little photos are sunny bright and beautiful. It’s been brilliant to have a break from the rain and enjoy plenty of ice cream and fro-yo. Autumn leaves will bring Chai tea lattes so not all will be lost when the sun takes his holiday!
We’ve been making things to get organised and to get accessorised for our music festival weekend this month and shared a wicked lady neck tie diy, showed you how to make a magnetic notice board with house hold objects, up-cycled some old sunnies into a pair of glitter sunglasses and even customised canvas shoes. We are really getting into our diys and hope you are too! If you have any requests we’d love to hear them πŸ˜€

We are now selling our prints online with GingerPickle.co.uk and got the opportunity to hang out with the owner and awesome jewellery maker Jade. If you’re wanting to find out how to get your designs stocked online, this interview is a must! We are also giving away one of our I Love You A Latte cards for Ginger Pickles birthday – make sure to enter the competition here πŸ˜€

We’ve been really inspired by our trip to Leeds Music Festival – being massive fans of The Cure and The Foo Fighters there is no surprise I was jumping for joy when we got to see them play! We also posted some of our favorite images of Marilyn Monroe to mark her anniversary. That is one beautiful woman! Finally, we spent a lot of time hanging out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and taking in lots of shows. We love the festival season in Edinburgh, it’s so busteling and there is plenty of stuff on to do for free πŸ˜€

Finally, this month we have had some incredible things happen. We got featured by Blog & Buy Sale as one of their Top 10 Back To School Essentials. With Tatty Devine and Lazy Oaf making the cut too, we are really honoured! We also had our second Mollie Makes blog feature; our lovely little pom pom tutorial got loads of kudos from them πŸ˜€ And our biggest achievement to date happened; our product got published! A massive thank you to BIBA Magazine, a French publication who loved our geek pencils so much they printed them. I am still blowen away by it! What an honour!!

We can’t wait to see what September brings πŸ˜€
Hope you had a fab month too…

July Round Up! Features, Tutorials, Fashion, Photography & All The Best Bits…

July Round Up! Features, Tutorials, Fashion, Photography & All The Best Bits…

*BOOM*
Can you believe August has already crashed in? That means one thing…. A round up of what we got up to in July of course! Incase you missed any of the good bits (or ruddy brilliant ones should I say!), here is a snippet at what went down at Vivid HQ…
Lots of pretty photos this month with afternoon tea, days in the sun and cocktails in a suitcase! We love to use our camera phones to snap all the things that make us smile. In Scotland we’ve had a really rainy year so these moments need to be documented as proof πŸ˜‰
We’re really excited about the fabricate exhibition in Edinburgh this month and got the opportunity to share the event on the blog before it opened. Full of some absolutely stunning design from upcoming Scottish makers, we rate this show highly as a must see if you’re in town for the Fringe!
It’s open ’till the 31st of August at Studio One, so make sure you pencil it in πŸ˜€

We have had the most fun yet with all our new tutorials! They will update your home and save you a fortune at the same time… not to mention all the fun you will have from learning something new! Check out how to make your own home screen printing kit, a cute little terrarium to bring the outdoors in and update your sofa with an awesome moon cushion using photo transfer paper. We also shared a diy that will update your dining room and pass the time on long journeys with our  placemat travel games project and show you how to make peanut butter and an awesome jar to go with it. Last but not least, a quick jewelry diy to show you how to make your own collar clips / cardigan clips from clip on earrings and a bracelet. A lot of great stuff, right?!

This month we fell in love with the galaxy trend and rocked a sultry and sexy vamp look for our outfit post Style me friday… Dressing up is one of my favorite pass times so making these fashion posts are a lot of fun!
We were really excited to have been featured sellers on Uncovet’s website, an online store dedicated to sharing some of the best new and upcoming designers products. On top of that we even made etsy’s usa homepage with our pencils too – we are so proud to have made it on the front page in the uk and america now πŸ˜€ We also did brilliantly at the 2 (!!) markets we traded at this month and we even had time to make plenty of brilliant new products. Crikey! No wonder the time has flown by so fast! We are delighted to have passed someone in the street wearing one of our products too – it’s so great to see our things being loved and worn with such pride! It really makes all the hard work and effort seem so, so worth it!
Finally, before we go, we’d really like to thank everyone who has shared our Mini Fork Pom Pom diy post this month too. This little fellow has been popping up everywhere and it has been amazing πŸ˜€ If you’ve shared any of our tutorials on your blog or tumbler etc, please let us know and send us a url – we’d love to be able to thank everyone for all the support they have been giving us!
So, a massive thank you and shout out to:
PHEW!
We hope we haven’t missed anyone out – please let us know if we have and we would love to add you in too. Hooray! Thanks everyone!
Thanks to all our lovely readers too – we hope you’ve enjoyed our July round up and have a lot of fun with all our new projects πŸ˜€ Here’s to more brilliant things to come in August!!
