As you may have noticed, I took a little break from blogging, but don’t fret, I’m coming back! The past few weeks have been absolutely crazy and I didn’t seem to have enough hours in the day to fit this into my schedule, but I’m finally getting a little more order back into my life.
So, what’s been going on with me? Well, prepare yourself… I finally bought a flat! That’s right, out with the old and in with the new, and I have been painting like a little mad woman. I’m decorating it all by myself so it’s taking a lot longer than anticipated, but it is going to be the greatest apartment of all time. Wait — what am I saying?! It IS the greatest apartment of all time! Between endless hours looking at paint colours, sofa’s, beds and all kinds of crazy furniture, things are finally coming together. I’ve got BIG plans of doing a virtual tour with you when it’s complete (please note, not even my best friends have seen it yet – there is going to be one hell of a big reveal!!) but for those of you who just cannot wait, I’ve been posting little snippets of my progress via instagram (@missvickyviola) It’s going to be epic!
I’ve also been working away at my new pin up girl range and have just created these lovely acrylic brooches and make up bags which will be going online as soon as I have settled into my new studio in the flat. I’m looking forward to having things organised and a lovely little photography area set up to get them snapped in all their glory. Prepare for a revamp of my Not On The Highstreet and Etsy shops; you may have noticed I’ve rebranded from my former name, Vivid Please to Miss Vicky Viola. I’m really going all out with these new beginnings! In the meantime, lovely ladies in Edinburgh will be able to buy them at Hannah Zakari, who are my first stockist of the new range <3
Finn turned one on the 7th July! Naturally it was a day of celebrations including tiny hats, a homemade hamster cake and he even got a massive new cage. New home for me, new home for Finn. How great is that?! For those of you who don’t celebrate pet’s birthdays, you are missing out on life. Look at him in his wee hat. How can you not want that?!
I keep all my wisdom in a tiny jar now! Yup, prepare to be grossed out, because that is the first tooth I’ve ever had to have removed and it’s a biggie. 30 years old and still growing teeth – what’s not mind boggling about that? Just goes to show that age is just a number and I will be forever young. Having a tooth removed is one of my biggest fears, but thanks to the worlds greatest dentist, I didn’t even know this had come out of my head. Plus I was fully awake and conscious. Just goes to show that things you work yourself up over are usually nowhere nearly as bad as you expect in reality…
And speaking of, now that I have passed my driving test (y’all know how long this took me because of fear of the roads!) and have been cruising around in my little manual car like nobody’s business. But naturally, things took a vintage twist in my life and I had to learn how to drive an automatic… why? Because I’m learning how to drive my dream car … the Figaro!
Isn’t he the cutest?!! I know, roadtrips for everyone!! I’m still a bit wobbly with the lack of a third pedal, but I am LOVING the lack of the gearbox. Why does the UK still insist on having these? When even vintage cars are automatic now, you’d think we’d get over it hahaha!
Anyways, so there you have it, that’s pretty much caught us up to speed! It’s been pretty epic, and I still have a lot to do before I can move into my new place, but I’m getting there. The blog’s been on a bit of a back burner for a while, but that phase will be passing as quickly as I can make it. Outfit posts, virtual tours and a whole bunch of other content is on its way as we speak. Remember to follow me via bloglovin so you don’t miss a trick!
Catch you on the flip side
