… It’s SHOWTIME!
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice BEETLEJUICE! I called his names so many times already that this last cry has finally pushed me over the edge. It seems he was too coy to show himself to me but he had no problem embodying me for this week’s Halloween Girl Gang shoot! In Part Two of the season special with Wardrobe Conversations & Miss West End Girl, Beetlejuice has chosen himself to be my Unlikely Horror Icon. Pretty rad, huh?
Beetlejuice has got to be THE most rock n roll horror icon out there. He might be a total skeeze, but my gosh does that guy know how to rock a suit! Stripes NEVER go out of fashion – and that wine coloured 3 piece suit with the ruffled shirt and bow tie? Be still my heart! I think if I was a dude, this would be how I dressed. You can’t put off an outfit like that and not bring an element of fun to it. Becoming Beetlejuice meant I got to embody that insanity for the day, which was hugely fun. Who knew I could kick my leg up like a guitar? He did! In the words of the man himself, I wanted to ‘Turn on the juice and see what shakes loose’!
For this shoot it was clear that something much more Glam Rock than my usual outfit choices was in order. I’ve never worn these items of clothing in this combination before, but let me tell you, I’m DEFINITELY going to embrace it now I have! Who knew my 1920’s style sequin cape by Jasmine Guiness & Oli Fusion could be so bad ass? I’ve always felt it was a bit too vintage style to wear with my 50’s cut dresses, meaning it didn’t get out of my wardrobe often. Now I’ve seen the error of my ways – it’s possibly the most rock and roll piece I own! I’m 100% going to dress it with some old school band tee’s and make up for all that time lost. Experimenting is the best!
Paired with my favourite Vivienne of Holloway black halter top and a pair of striped Forever 21 trousers, I don’t think I’ve ever looked so wicked in all my life. Add the most incredible pair of sunglasses, borrowed from Miss West End Girl and some giant heels from Topshop and I’m ready to start a riot!
With such a bling outfit I wanted to keep my jewellery to a minimum, but naturally I needed one big jewel on my finger to pull it all together and show ’em who’s boss. When Wardrobe Conversations presented me with this Runaway Fox ring it was meant to be! The perfect piece to pull it all together – and in a beautiful beetle emerald colour too! What an amazing choice ladies, I totally adore it and it’s the perfect reminder or our super glamorous weekend too!
So, do you think you’re ready to get dressed up and come out with us this Halloween?
Better get your act together, girl!
