Hello! My name is Vicky Viola (yes, that’s my real name!) and I live in Edinburgh, Scotland with my dwarf hamster Finn, a massive stationery collection and a cute tiki themed kitchen. My obsession is pretty much anything from the 1950’s and I’m passionate about photography, illustration & design and snail mail. Let’s be honest, everyone loves receiving fun post, and I love having an excuse to add to my stationery collection so I can send it!
My business journey started in 2010 blogging and creating under the name Vivid Please, and in 2014 I decided to branch out and start fresh with MissVickyViola.com so I can diversify my content. My new focus is to share insights into my retro style, fun and creative DIY’s and helpful tips and advice from what I’ve learned from running my own company Vivid Please.
Being quirky and individual is much more fun and exciting than following the crowd; ever since I’ve discovered that going on adventures, taking risks, standing out and getting out of your comfort zone is the best thing you can do to live life to the fullest. I hope my blog helps encourage you to dive in and do it with style!
So, how did I end up starting my own business and blog? Well, after studying at Glasgow School of Art, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Portfolio Magazine, the Jerwood Photography Awards, TopShop and Tatty Devine before working with National Galleries of Scotland and Braehead Shopping Centre with The Union Advertising Agency. Having so many creative roles has been such a dream, but I have always wanted to create something for myself. After a lot of hard work and saving, I launched Vivid Please with help from my partner where our range of stationery, prints and accessories has gone from strength to strength and our blog flourished into an entity of it’s own! After attending the Blogcademy class in Amsterdam in 2014 I decided to branch out with the blogging side of Vivid Please so I could push the boundaries and express myself more.
