As my birthday celebrations continue, I was totally thrilled to bits to be invited to an extra special event through in Glasgow. Not only did it mean spending more time with Lynsay, the most inspirational lady I know, but also that I got a chance to start ticking off my ‘Things I Need To Sort Out In My Life’ list. Let me tell you right now, getting older and wiser might be great, but I am terrible at looking after myself. I’ve been super lazy in the skin care routine department, and it’s time I actually started doing something about it. So when I was through in Kiehl’s the other week, Lisa & Margret took me under their wing and introduced me into a routine I could actually maintain. When they invited me to the launch of the Daily Revivng Concentrate I was over the moon. It’s a super duper mega potion that is every lazy girls dream! Plus there was an extra special guest coming along to introduce the product… bet you can’t guess who!
I have no shame in divulging that I started planning my outfit pretty much as soon as I found out about this. I wanted to wear something feminine that showed off my curves and was bright and playful. I have one fine lesson you’ll never forget for you here ladies; when in doubt, choose sparkles! This H&M sequin skirt screams ‘good time betty’ but I love that I can dress it down a little by pairing it with a black cardigan and tights. I also wanted to draw full attention to my new favourite brooch, it’s a vintage Disney D from Match Accessories! Isn’t it the cutest? You can’t really tell in the photos, but it’s been made with a beautiful pearl resin, making it even more charming. True love!
I love that Kiehl’s have a scrapbook in the shop that records their journey as a store from wee secret haven in New York in 1851 to becoming a world renowned potion palace today. Obviously when Lynsay and I took full advantage of their in house photo booth we snuck it in to record the momentous occasion!
Can’t wait any longer to find out who introduced their latest creation? None other than Scotland’s very own contestant from Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Miss Morgan McMichaels! SQUEAL!!
Being a huge fan of the show, meeting Morgan was a real dream. Not only did she look absolutely incredible, but she was a brilliant spokes gal for the product. Running around and insisting we all tried the Daily Reviving Concentrate was really hysterical, but you could see her genuine passion for the product too, as she herself is a big fan of it. Created to revive and reenergise tired skin in the morning, it couldn’t have arrived in my life at a better time; with all these birthday events I am feeling a little worse for wear! It’s a lovely concoction that’s jam packed full of essential oils, meaning you only need a couple of drops when applying it. It smells nice, sinks into your skin super quickly and I’m really pleased to share it doesn’t leave any shine or budge your make up. I might be partying all day and all night, but you honestly can’t tell from looking at me! I don’t wear foundation and concealer every day (told you I was lazy) but I’ve really found that my skin is looking much brighter and healthier since giving it a go. A new favourite for sure!
In summery, trading beauty secrets with Drag Queens is the best. No matter if you’re into full on make up or a totally understated natural look, one thing we all have in common is that a good base on the skin is the most important thing to combat ageing. At the end of the day, you need to take care of yourself… why? Because if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else? Well put Ru Paul!
Have any of you tried the Daily Reviving Concentrate? Or do you have any great top tips for making your skin look bright and sparkly after too many nights on the tiles? Spread the love ladies, no secrets here!!
