It’s that time of year where love is all over the place, and, if you’re single like me, it can seem like there’s a party happening where everyone is invited except you. Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a problem with Vday, I’m not one of them dolls who take a stand against it. In fact, I feel a bit like the opposite this year. I think Valentines is cute! I like that there are love hearts all over the joint! I love love. But I’m a bit gutted that I don’t have anyone to send a cute card to… And, let’s face it, we all like to get a little bit of anonymous love from time to time (and I ain’t talking tinder, y’all), so it’s a bit rubbish knowing the chances of receiving one from a secret admirer is slim. So that’s why I’ve decided to kick off the year with a Valentines Day Snail Mail Swap!
In a nutshell, your task is to send a stranger some love. Because it feels so good getting a random compliment from a stranger in the street, doesn’t it? And don’t even get me started on how excited I get over receiving post. The idea of getting a lovely card full of sweet words and compliments sounds like absolute bliss for this cold and dark time of year. You shouldn’t need to have a ‘significant other’ to get involved, right? This is all about spreading love and getting some good karma flowing about the place. Wanna get involved? Me too!
To participate, all you need to do is comment below with your email address, or if you follow me on Instagram, you can join us by commenting on this post with your email address with a little note to say you want to play. From there I will email you to get your address so I can match you up with a partner. Then all you need to do is find a cute card, fill it with sweet words, compliments and all the stuff you’d love to hear on Valentine’s Day (nothing rude mind you!) and post it. The idea is that it is totally anonymised, meaning no names, and the partner you get will NOT be the person you’re going to get a love note from. It’s all a secret remember!
DEADLINE: You must have your card written out and posted by the 11th of February. No if’s no but’s! It would be so sad to send one and not receive one, wouldn’t it? You don’t wanna be that person!! Plus all it costs to participate is the price of a card and a first class stamp. That’s cheaper than a coffee these days.
This is only open to UK (and Ireland) participants, purely because it’s too short notice to get post all the way out to America. Sorry lovelies! But if you’d like to get involved with my other Snail Mail trades, gimme a shout out in the comments below and I will keep you updated.
Comment below with your email address and I’ll be in touch very shortly with your partners address. Don’t panic, I’m not sharing the info with anyone else 🙂
