Waaaaaah! Can you believe it? I’m now 30 years old! Unlike a lot of people, I am ALL about the birthdays. You only have an excuse once a year to go all out and celebrate the way you want to, so why sulk at getting older? That’s something I’ve never been able to understand. Age is not something you can control, it’s foolish to be upset by a number. Turning 30 has meant I’m a little bit closer to my dream of rocking a blue rinse hair do – – what’s not to love?
Given that I’m uber obsessed with sprinkles and glitter, throwing a confetti party for the big three oh seemed like the most stylish way to have a kids party in honour of being as old as I feel. My favourite American gal pal Jade has been the greatest friend of all time by sending me crazy vibrant rainbow sprinkles, funfetti cake mix, and the most phenomenal book on baking with sprinkles I’ve ever seen to help me create the party of my dreams. Due to e numbers and loads of sugar (my two favourite things!), sadly I can’t get these treats in the UK, making this an extra special celebration – can you believe I shared it all? Hee hee!
With a splash of pink champaign in my Babycham glasses and some delicious macarons from my favourite cafe in Edinburgh Mademoiselle Macaron, I’m over the moon to share that the celebration tasted as good as it looked. I even made the oreo truffles and jazzies to match my cake. I guess I’m a ‘hat’s gloves and scarves’ kinda lady!
Do you love my glitter hearts cake toppers? Well I have some exciting news for you! I made them too – and I’ve even created a super easy DIY for you all to follow! If you’d love to make a set for your party pop back 0n Tuesday for the tutorial. Spreading the love is the greatest!!
No party would be complete without a bunch of confetti cannons to set off. These are my new obsession – I went a little over the top ordering these in, but they were 100% worth the investment. I even have a couple left over for any time a frown needs turned upside down; you can’t be blue with an explosion of happiness in your hands!
I got my totally adorable party hat from Colette Brean and cut roses dress by Karen Mabon X Coco Fenell especially for this occasion. My party party table confetti, plates, cups, and napkins and my golden bunting are from Ginger Ray and the pop crackers and table cloth are from Meri Meri, two of the greatest party decoration site’s I’ve ever come across. I want to buy all the things!
Piece of cake anyone? I thought as much! Get your party poppers out and come celebrate with me! A gal only turns 30 once after all *wink wink* If you want to check out my birthday wish list you can find it here. I can’t wait to share with you the special gifts I got for my big day. Hooray for getting older!
Happy Birthday (or Unbirthday) to you!
Vicky
